Physical Security Training - Putting You in Control

Do you rely on suppliers or installers to tell you what your security equipment needs are? Do you want value for money from your security system? Do you want to get it right first time? Do you want a system that actually meets your organisation's needs?  Or are you a supplier of security services and you want to ensure you meet your customers' needs? If the answer to any of these questions is 'Yes', then read on.

Today's security systems are extremely complex and often it is only once installation has been completed is it discovered that the system does not perform as originally envisaged. Mistakes caused by lack of a clear Operational Requirement (OR) and a failure to understand the capabilities and limitations of the technology can be very expensive to rectify later.

MAP Datum Ltd offers training in Physical Security to security managers and supervisors, security consultants and those charged with responsibility for purchase of security systems. The training encompasses an introduction to the capabilities and limitations of various types of security technology and, most importantly, an OR methodology (originally developed by the UK's Home Office Scientific Development Branch) that allows the user to produce a detailed non-technical document that clearly identifies the security problems and the hoped for outcomes in advance of any system specification by an installation company or external consultant. This puts the user in control and helps avoid any nasty surprises.

Courses can be arranged for individuals or groups, with a minimum of five and a maximum of ten students per course. They are normally conducted in the Auckland region. Other venues will be considered if there is sufficient interest; disbursements apply at cost. Alternatively, MAP Datum Ltd is able to provide training at your own premises subject to suitable facilities and sufficient participants being available. Fees will be adjusted accordingly.
